PNG Icons
We want to learn how to make a PNG thumbnail, using paint shop pro.
1. Start by opening PSP and make a blank document(Ctrl+N). I make 78x98 px.
2. Now fill it with a color, then go to
Image >> Add Borders... and add 1px border to your image.
3. Now you should go to
Layers >> New Raster Layer.. and click Ok to create a new layer. So you must have 2 layers up to now: 1- Background. 2- Raster 1.
4. Now Choose the Selection Tool by pressing
(S) and select a rectangle on your new layer then fill it with a different color.
I've also added a new line under my rectangle by brush tool. its on your own how to decorate the PNG Icons.
5. Use the Text Tool by pressing
(T) to add your site's address on the rectangle. So write your site's address on the image and drag it over the rectangle. Here's how my thumbnail looks up to now.
6. Now its time to find the PNG you want to be displayed in the thumbnail. Resize the PNG by pressing (Shift+S). so that its fit to your icon. then copy the resized PNG by pressing (Ctrl+C).
7. Now go back to the PNG Icon and choose the
Background Layer (If you dont have the Layers Palette press F8). Then you must paste your copied PNG as a new layer by pressing (Ctrl+L) so that the PNG is pasted as new layer, under the rectangle. Its Finished ;).
8. Finally its time to save the thumbnail to your computer.
